John came on staff at FBC in July 2010 after serving as a music associate for four years in the DFW area. Originally from Odessa, TX, he received his degree in music from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2006, and his Master of Arts in Worship degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth in 2009.
Family: John married his high school sweetheart, Alia Goforth in 2006 who now works as a contract Speech Pathologist in the OKC area. They enjoy spending time with their sons Luke (2009), Shai (2012), Jude (2015), and Knox (2018).

Favorite Bible character: Outside of the members of the Trinity, Peter.

Hobbies: Spending time with his wife and extremely active boys, CrossFit in his garage, and watching American Ninja Warrior.
Favorite Meal: Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara from Olive Garden (gift cards and date nights welcome)
Favorite Vacation Spot: He recently visited Seattle and the surrounding areas in the Northwest and loved every minute! For regular vacation spots, John loves to visit family in Texas and Mississippi.
Favorite Sports Team(s): OKC Thunder and University of Texas Longhorn Football.
Something people may not know about you that they would find interesting: John loves history, walking through antique shops, and enjoys collecting things from the Civil War era.
