John Brewer
Associate Pastor of Worship
John came on staff at FBC in July 2010 after serving as a music associate for four years in the DFW area. Originally from Odessa, TX, he received his degree in music education with a concentration in voice from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2006, and his Master of Arts in Worship degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth in 2009. John is pursuing a D.Min. in Biblical Worship at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Family: John married his high school sweetheart, Alia Goforth in 2006 who now works as a contract Speech Pathologist in the OKC area. They enjoy spending time with their sons Luke (2009), Shai (2012), Jude (2015), and Knox (2018).

Hobbies: Spending time with my wife and boys, reading a good book, working out, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Favorite Meal: My go-to guilty pleasures are pizza and a good chicken queso burrito from Qdoba. Of the finer things, a good steak from Mahogany never disappoints!
Favorite Vacation Spot: Branson is a family favorite as well as visiting family in Texas and Mississippi. We also love discovering new places!

Favorite Sports Team(s): OKC Thunder & Texas Longhorn Football. My family is from the South, so there’s also a place in my heart for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Something people may not know about you that they would find interesting: I love history, mixed martial arts, and walking through antique shops.
